Richard Mackie,
Production Machinist
Richard was born in Patuxent, Maryland in 1962. Soon after, Richard's family
moved to Brunswick, Maine, where his sister was born. When Richard was ten,
the family moved to the Robinhood section of Georgetown, Maine, Richard and his
sister terrorized the neighborhood until they grew out of it. Richard attended
Morse High School in Bath, and graduated with honors in 1980.
After high school, he went to work at the Bath Iron
Works Corporation shipyard. He lasted two weeks there,
before deciding it wasn't for him. He was promptly offerred
a job at Woodex, and has been with the company ever
since. Richard has been with Woodex longer than any
other production employee. Instrumental in the development
of MECO®
Custom Shaft Seals,
Richard has mastered all of the "how-to's" of Woodex's
machinery.
Richard has been married and divorced, and has a daughter named Amanda. Besides
fishing, his current hobby is remodeling, practiced at his home in Woolwich,
where he lives with his wife Karen (the best friend he's ever had), and
her two children, Mindy and Donnie.
