Driving Directions to Woodex
|
| |
From the South
Follow I295 North from Portland, Maine. Follow signs to
"Coastal Route Brunswick-Bath" at Exit 28.
Follow U.S. Route 1 north to Bath. In Bath, stay in left lane, and cross the
Kennebec River Bridge.
Immediately at the end of the bridge, exit right toward Reid State Park, just before Dairy Queen.
Continue to a stop sign, and turn left onto Maine 127 South to Arrowsic
and Georgetown.
Follow Maine 127 South approximately 8 miles. You'll see Georgetown Potters,
U.S. Post Office, Georgetown Country Store and Georgetown Fire Department on
the right.
Turn right onto Bay Point Road - the first paved road past the Firehouse. Follow
Bay Point Road for just under a mile. On the left, you'll see a small "Woodex"
sign on a tree by the road. Just before the sign, there's a driveway on the left which runs through a field, behind a long, corrugated metal building. This is the truck entrance.
Just past the sign is a second driveway on the left, which leads past the front of the corrugated metal building. Visitors should turn left into this second driveway and follow to the white farmhouse with the "Office"
sign next to the door.
Truckers Note: Woodex is the last opportunity on Bay Point Road for a tractor-trailer to turn! If you overshoot the driveway, you will need a wrecker to turn around! Watch carefully for the small sign and corrugated metal building, and DO NOT drive more than 1 mile from Route 127!
The first driveway is the truck entrance; deliveries are at the loading dock on the far side of the corrugated shop building.
