Alan Barry,
Maintenance Manager
Al was born and raised in North Bath, Maine, on a small farm at the edge of Merrymeeting Bay. He is currently the Maintenance Manager and Woodshop Foreman at Woodex.
As a three-year old, it is rumored that Al could be found with wrenches in hand and rag in pocket, under farm equipment, trying to make sense of it. At five, he developed an interest in woodworking, and at seven built his first table. These two passions have followed him ever since.
Al studied residential construction in high school, and upon graduation jumped into commercial construction. He soon returned to mechanical pursuits, in a career that included servicing equipment as diverse as automatic pinspotters and oil burners. He's been maintaining industrial machinery for the past eight years at Woodex, and enjoys every day.
Al and his wife, Clevette, enjoy their three horses, who are ridden very regularly. When not riding, Al and Clevette concentrate on raising their six children - two boys, two girls, one Rottweiler (who's a big baby), and a spanking new Yellow Lab puppy (who's a little baby), and of course helping others with anything that needs doing. Not a day goes by without a phone call from someone needing advice or a helping hand. Al and Clevette have been trading favors with a large group of friends for about sixteen years, and every year the group grows.
They enjoy wilderness camping and canoeing as a family, and love nature to no end. They dream of building an organic farm to raise produce, poultry, beef and pork, mixed in with their equestrian hobbies, in hopes their children will be able to make their livings without taking away from the land.
